Dr. Couper's primary research interests have been in the areas of process economics and financial analysis of companies in the Chemical Process Industries (CPI). A secondary interest is the design and specification of chemical process equipment. He is a Fellow, AIChE, a member of the American Chemical Society and the American Association of Cost Engineers.
