Dr. Babcock's primary research interests are in the fossil fuel area related to the production and processing of petroleum and natural gas. Dr. Babcock has conducted research projects in tar sands recovery, crude oil de-waxing, fugitive emissions related to natural gas processing, and the production of biodiesel from grain oils, chicken fat, and beef tallow. Dr. Babcock has also conducted research in the area of pyrotechnics and coal gasification modeling.
